Jericho 941 Serial Number
The Jericho 941 is on my shortlist of guns to purchase, but I for the life of me cannot find one in my area to handle and see if I actually like the thing itself, or just the idea of one. I've gone out and either handled or been able to rent out almost every other gun I've been considering, and I don't want to rule any model off before I've had an actual chance to have one in my hands. My Jericho 941. Serial puts it imported in 1989.
I bought this gun purly on the fact that I love the show cowboy bebop and by some amazing luck it popped up in my backyard on armslist. As for all your questions, the answer depends. Czs are similar, but not the same and have a bigger aftermarket then Jericho’s. As for all the other questions it’s your preference based on your disposable income as to what you wanna do. I personally would like a polymer frame (speaking of which the feel of the Jericho is damn near close to none. Feels so good in the hand.) for ccw here and there but just my opinion.I can bs for longer but long story short it’s a great gun. Seriously great.
Not the most ergonomic but it’s great because I love the feel and the aesthetics as well as the history and personal attachment because of a childhood show. Ah, so you went ahead and got one of the older models with the slide safety/decocker. While I like pretending I'm as cool as Spike Spiegel as much as the next guy, I figured that I'd get a new one if I was to get one at all, and I'm pretty sure that IWI stopped using the slide safety years ago to make it even more similar to the CZ. Of course, that means the sort of 'default' carrying position for the new Jerichos is cocked and locked, which tends to rub some people the wrong way, but I figure I can live with that. Funnily enough it seems that Magnum Research makes some bizarre nu-Jericho thing based on the older models that still has the slide safetyThat's another thing that I forgot to ask about in my OP. How is the trigger pull for these guns?

Jericho Baby Eagle 9mm
It's a DA/SA, so I just kind of assumed it was more or less similar to all the other DA/SA handguns I've shot, but if it's got some weird staged pull or one that's super long, that's something I'd like to know. I have (and carry) an original IMI Jericho 941FL (F stands for Full Size, L stands for Lightweight (polymer frame); the newer IWI 941PSL is the same gun with updated sights. They're very nice guns. I strongly recommend going polymer, as fully-loaded with 17+1 rounds they're very heavy. A steel frame would just be absurd. Stick with 9mm as well. The decocker versions suck, because they have a push-forward safety instead of a pull-down safety.
They're impossible to disengage while maintaining a normal grip on the weapon. This is a flaw common to almost all slide-mounted safeties. As for liking two-tone, why do you think I bought my FEG PA63? It's a gorgeous little pistol. Here's my 941FL:Also note that modern retention holsters are available for these pistols from both Orpaz Defense and IMI.
Take your pick. I just sold one that I only had for a few months. Steel frame, new model with the frame-mounted safety. It’s a good gun, just.not my speed. I did have some FTF issues, but I think that was my fault (oil instead of grease on the slide rails), and I’ve never heard of other folks having issues with it. Also I only shot Blazer Brass, so maybe changing up the ammo would have helped.Sold it on consignment for a $15 loss (the dealer commission), and it sold in mere days—so if you don’t like it, I suspect you’ll be able to get out from under it pretty easily. They look really cool.
The sights aren’t adjustable (except by drifting them), which bothered me more than I expected. A pretty standard 3-dot with white paint. I don’t have a ton of experience with combat pistols—these sights were set up so that you had to cover the target with the sight picture, rather than the 6-o’clock hold that my target pistols and revolvers are set for.
From what I’ve read, adjusting to that just takes practice. I didnt put in the practice and had a hard time hitting with it.The gun is plenty accurate, though. Shooting from a rest and taking my time, it did well. And they are (or at least the front is) technically adjustable by drifting, which was good enough for our fathers and grandfathers. Also, I read that Tanfoglio sights work, so there may be after-market options if you are so inclined.I didn’t hate it, I just wanted a hi-power and tried to settle that itch with a Jericho. I take it out of its case and grope it every day. It fits wonderfully in my hand, and while it's heavy, it's not detrimentally so.

Mine is a newer model, 9mm steel frame, the 3.8' barrel version. I don't personally think the lack of a decocker is a problem, since they're easy enough to decock manually. I'd imagine the polymer frame is considerably lighter than the steel, but I like the heft of it. The polymer frames also have the finger grooves, which I don't miss at all. The only issue I've had with it so far (and to be fair, it's a new purchase and I haven't had it long) is that the slide is heavy and hard to rack. But I'm female and apparently have weak muscle tone, so you might not have an issue!;-).
